Eighteenth-century palazzo on the Corso with courtyard, terrace and views of Etna

On Corso Umberto, a lava-stone portal with the coat of arms of a family now extinct leads into a hallway paved in cobbles, and then into a courtyard with a lemon tree and a well. The 1740 palazzo has kept its tall rooms, beamed and vaulted ceilings, stucco cornices and wrought-iron balustrades on the balconies.

The 480 m² comprise six bedrooms and five bathrooms, a salon with a white-stone fireplace, a study with a library, a dining room opening onto the courtyard. The upper-floor terrace, of 100 m², has a view that takes in everything: the line of the Corso, the sea, the bay of Naxos and Etna behind.

In the basement, a vaulted cellar with the old barrels. Independent heating; there is no garage, but covered parking is three hundred metres away. A place that has crossed three centuries and that asks of whoever chooses it respect and care.
