Restored podere near Pienza with a pool among the cypresses

Around Pienza the poderi have stayed as sharecropping drew them: a house of stone and brick, a row of cypresses, the hay barn set apart from the dwelling. This one, restored with local materials, has a five-arched portico, a wood-fired oven and a twelve-metre pool looking over the clay hills.

Five bedrooms and four bathrooms in 340 m², with terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and a fireplace in the salon. Around it, 40,000 m² with olive trees, a vegetable garden and a small holm-oak wood: in winter mist rises from the valley and leaves only the tops of the cypresses in sight. Independent heating, three parking spaces under a pantile roof.
